Gudmundur Jonsson Architecture office
was founded in june1987 after winning the Scandinavian Competition for the Icelandic Concerthouse. The office has 5 employees that serve a broad spectre in the field of Architecture, Interior Design, Exhibitions, City Planning, and Design.

International work
Gudmundur Jonsson Architecture office has projects in a wide geographical range both Nationally and Internationally. Some of the National projects count f.ex. Hardangervidda National Park Centre, NORVEG Coast-Cultural Centre, and Norwegian FJORD Centre in Geiranger, together with the Weidemann-Gallery.
Some of the International Projects are f.ex. The Icelandic Embassy in Washington, Attached House in Malmö, Sweden, Library in Akureyri, Iceland among other projects in Iceland.
The main substance of the projects are Cultural buildings and Exhibitions together with Family-houses. Office building and projects for Hotels are to be mentioned as well.

Examples of Cultural buildings are Hardangervidda National Park Centre,
NORVEG Coast-Cultural Centre, and Norwegian Fjord Centre in Geiranger (collaborating with Kristin Jarmund Architects), Library in Akureyri, Iceland.
Other projects to come are Saemien Sijte Administration- and Cultural Centre at Snåsa, Norway, The Polar Beer Society in Hammerfest, Thjorsardalur Cultural Centre in Iceland, Hjalmaklettur, Egill Skallagrimsson Cultural Centre in Borgarnes, Iceland, and the Vikingship Pavilion in Reykjanesbær, Iceland.
